PRODUCTS OF MY ENVIRONMENT X THE SON OF PICASSO
Benjamin Nelson
The Son of Picasso (aka Benjamin Nelson, Government Name) is a federally registered Kiowa artist, with heritage also rooted in Diné, Taos Pueblo, and Delaware tribes. He is an award-winning fine art and graffiti artist, recognized by the Southwestern Association for American Indian Arts (SWAIA).
In 2018, he launched Products of My Environment (@productsofmyenvironment), an underground, eco-conscious clothing brand that falls under the streetwear category. The label gained significant acclaim in 2022, winning Best of Division / 1st Place in Textiles at the prestigious Santa Fe Indian Market.
Guided by the Plains Indian philosophy to "use the whole buffalo," Products of My Environment crafts one-of-one pieces using responsibly sourced materials and traditional Diné dyes. Every garment is handmade in Native America, ensuring the artistry—and the story—never die.
His designs serve as wearable commentary on society’s challenges. Bold, brash, and groundbreaking, his art fuses traditional Indigenous symbols with the raw energy of graffiti and modern street style.
