PACHA INDIGENOUS ART COLLECTION

Kinoo Arcentales Cajas

PACHA Indigenous Art Collection is a Kichwa family-owned business based in Toronto. Rooted in the Mindalae tradition (ancestral practice of trade outside of home territory), the focus is on championing handmade items such as textiles, clothing, and jewelry by Indigenous artisans from North and South America, reconnecting traditions and trade relations across borders.

The runway collection, KAWSANKI, is led and designed by Kinoo Arcentales Cajas, representing the younger generation of Kichwa artists creating contemporary artwork. With over 15 years of experience in textiles, industrial machinery, and wardrobe design, Kinoo collaborates with multiple Southern Indigenous communities to break trade stigmas and empower artists to think outside the box, spreading creativity globally.

The KAWSANKI Collection (pronounced kau-sun-gui) celebrates the Indigenous Andean Peoples across time—past, present, and future—beyond the museum narrative. Inspired by Kichwa Otavalo garments, mountains, rivers, and Indigenous Futurism, the collection honors the cyclical nature of time. Designed to clothe future ancestors, each piece reflects Kichwa cosmologies with dualities and colors of corn, grains, and turquoise.
