EMME STUDIO
Korina Emmerich
Artist and designer Korina Emmerich founded the slow fashion brand EMME Studio in 2015. Her colorful work celebrates her paternal Indigenous heritage from The Puyallup tribe while aligning art and design with education. With a strong focus on social and climate justice, Emmerich's artwork strives to expose and dismantle systems of oppression in the fashion industry and challenge colonial ways of thinking.
Emmerich has served with The Slow Factory Foundation, The Fibers Fund, and Catalyst. She co-founded Relative Arts, a NYC space for Indigenous fashion, design, and collaboration.
Her work has been featured at The Met, MoMA PS1, The Denver Art Museum, and in publications like Vogue and Elle. She has presented at Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, Santa Fe Indian Market, and New York Fashion Week.
Indigenous peoples represent only 4% of the global population, yet they are guardians of more than 80% of the world's biodiversity. SEEDS was inspired by nature's propagation systems. As our roots grow, we create a strong foundation to thrive and expand. Built with up-cycled materials, the collection opens a conversation about the lifecycle of fashion, presenting new opportunities to cultivate sustainable practices for our future.
